Some Things Never Change

Our field is changing rapidly. Technology is overtaking us at an unheard-of pace. The journalists of tomorrow may not look anything like the journalists of today. I mean, literally. For all we know, they might have gills and three buttocks. That’s how fast things are changing. But rest assured that, however dizzying the rate of change, when what’s at stake is the sacred art of truth-telling, there is always one constant. One thing will always stay the same: Your editor is going to be an idiot.

The Washington Post’s Gene Weingarten.

DO NOT SEND ANY FURTHER GTR’S UNDER ANY NAME. It now looks suspicious. I
can justify one possible sale to Al-Jaffar and possibly two (USDL), but not
    three (A Knotch Above).
I do not want the military busting on my ass for this shit. We’re in enough
trouble as it is. We don’t need the I MEF calling Dave in and then grilling
    my ass.
    Guys, it’s over.
Richard, the link between mil and insurance has been established. I’ll hop
a flight to Dubai tomorrow as early as possible. What hotel are you in?

Please see below email sent via Fallujah RROC reference the ongoing problems
with DGI, ‘A Knotch Above’ and now U.S. Defense Logitics, who are using some
    of
    the same contact details.
    Kind regards

    Sir,
I was just notified by the Aegis LMCC that there is another PSC submitting
    GTRs
with the same POC information as DGI. This company is U.S. Defense
    Logistics
and their Security Convoy Commander is Mike Marin (same as DGI and A Knotch
Above) and their POC is Brad Fewson 0790 2906 795/0790 191 9872 (same as
    DGI).
I checked the PSC website and there isn’t any company listed as US Defense
Logistics, however, they are listing an MTS-Lite transponder (PC 162) that I
heard was checked out 5 May from you guys.
Please investigate and let us know. In the meantime we will treat them the
    same
as DGI and A Knotch Above. Thanks!
